Snack poll

The "travel-snack poll" was terminated early due to the fact that all of the aforementioned snacks (except trail mix, obviously) were awesome.  It was really just to generate discussion...  I've already researched the topic thoroughly, to the point that I could be considered an expert on the matter.  I will say that Twizzler's Pull&Peel has a slight edge because of their packing advantage (slim profile, flexibility, etc).  But Good&Plenty have the advantage of the cathartic properties of black licorice.  (Or disadvantage, depending on where you're traveling.)  Skittles are always a crowd favorite, which is good for making friends but may necessitate bringing larger quantities.  (Side note:  1 lb bags from Target are perfect for this reason.)  Sour Patch kids are awesome too, and seem to evoke a patriotic nostalgia.  This is possibly due to their association with American cinema, or the fact that they are basically sugar coated with sugar.  Trail mix is gross, unless you are constipated, camping, or constipated while you are camping.

Our next poll -- should 'yours truly' get an iPhone?  Here are THE PROS:
1) My phone (a nappy old RAZR that has sucked for as long as I've had it) is getting old & noticeably slow.
2) I think I'm due for a free* upgrade from AT&T.
3) I already have AT&T, so I wouldn't need to switch plans
4) I'm getting shelled with text charges, and it would help to be able to do some of this communication over mobile email.  (Note:  these are professional correspondences, of course.)
5) In the turf business, it would be a huge advantage to be able to locate various supply stores & disposal sites.  I'm carrying 6 bags of old sod in the back of my truck right now because the last job I finished too late to make it to Prima DeShecha landfill.  If I knew where a dump was in Redondo Beach, I might have been able to drop it off that night.
6) My palm pilot died, so I have no mobile medical software.  This puts 'clients' lives in jeopardy.
7) I don't have a hands-free device for my current phone, which puts me in opposition to current California law.  The new iPhone comes with a headset (I think), and that would be $20 I didn't have to spend.
8) Being able to sync my calendar (iCal) with my phone would allow me to schedule shifts while I'm working.  I'd be able to take more shifts, earn more money, and probably get better looking.

And THE CONS:
1) Technically THE WIFE was amping on the iPhone before I was, last year when the first one came out.  Way back when I told her they were ridiculous and that she didn't need one.  (That was before I found out how awesome they are.)  However, THE WIFE also technically just got a new phone and a new palm pilot in the past year.
2) I'm not sure I really need more repeating monthly expenses, although a) I don't think it would be much more than my current plan and b) it's all a business writeoff.

Well we'll just have to see what the poll says.  Vote often!  (I know I will...)

Sorry dude. I voted no, just out of spite, before reading your very cogent and concise reasons for getting an iPhone. Please change my vote to yes. But weren't you against cell phones just a few years ago, flippy (flopper)?

THE WIFE will be informed of your (ahem) "flip-flop", if there are any hanging chads when they count the final votes.

Just to follow up on this topic... the final iVote did in fact come down to being determined by your change of heart, Jefe! You are the man. I'll totally let you play with my iPhone next time I come up to visit. And you win a free pomeranian.
