Well, to say this series isn't going well for the Lakers would be like saying the Hindenburg had some problems. As I was watching the Game 4 meltdown the other night, I came to the realization that it looks like the Celtics are unequivocally the better team this year. I hate to say it, but with the exception of Game 3 they have absolutely imposed their will and fought off charges that would have left a weaker team hiding behind the Gatorade coolers. Every time we had a chance to ice games... they held on. Every time they had a chance to ice games... they did. That's what good teams do. And unless the Lakers show some real life in the next 2 games, I'm becoming resigned to the fact that the better team is winning the series, and it ain't us.
That being said, I don't think they're going to close out the series tonight in LA. I think we've got at least one more good/desperate game in us. I don't think Kobe is going to let Boston win it all in our house. But I also think we're going to have a tough time winning 2 in Boston (or even 1 for that matter). Not that I've given up hope... over the years I've seen Kobe and his boys do some pretty amazing things. And wouldn't that be awesome to be the first team EVER to come back from 3-1 in the finals? Wouldn't it??
(Sigh)
Go Lakers.
PS- Yeah that turned out to be quite a knee injury, #34. Begin slow clap sequence.... now.
